Vinegar Cake
Submitted by Sue Lowes on Jan 10, 2013

Yummy and moist chocolate cake.

Servings:
9

Complexity:
Very Easy

Total Time:
1 hour

Ingredients:
1&1/2 cups all purpose flour
1 cup sugar
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
3 tablespoons cocoa, plus more for dusting cake
1 tablespoon vinegar
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
1 cup warm water
6 tablespoons vegetable oil

Directions:
Preheat oven to 350F.
Mix dry ingredients tobether. Make a well in dry ingredients and add wet ingredients. Mix well. If the batter isn't very loose, add just a big more warm water, 1 tablespoon at a time, until you get a thin batter. This will make a very moist cake.

Pour into a greased (I use Pam) 8 or 9 inch square pan. Bake 25 to 30 minutes, until a wooden pick inserted in the center comes out clean. Let cool and dust with cocoa. Serves about 9.

Cook's Notes:
The ingredients are simple--you have them in your pantry. Very old recipe.
